Hi have full flu. dr said chest ok but full thick mucus. have trouble spitting also bad head pressure near pass out when cough. ok to swallow ?

Thick mucous : Drink plenty of water if you can keep it down. Try Mucinex (guaifenesin) over the counter to thin the secretions. Try delsym for the cough. It is ok to swallow the mucous if you would prefer that to spitting it out. If it is colored see your doctor for an antibiotic. You could be getting a secondary infection. Good luck. Feel better.
