Yes- check with Derm: Depending upon your skin type and the amount of scarring/hyperpigmentation, peels may be of some help. There are many modalities used to treat both conditions. The vipeel is one nice peel that addresses both concerns. Fractionated laser can help resurface. Hydroquinones, kojic acid, ; arbutin products can help lighten and brighten. There are many optioons to discuss. Be sure to wear sunscreen.

Depends on the peel: Skin contour irregularities likely will require resurfacing. Treatments may include heavier peeling agents such as tca exceeding 35% or even phenol peels which can be more effective still. Treatments should be administered by a specialist familiar with these acids and their strengths. Dermabrasion should not be ruled out as an alternative. Individual skin pigmentation also needs consideration too!
