Chlamydia: Repeat infection is common. If sex partners have not been treated you are at high risk for re-infection. Multiple chlamydial infections increase a woman's risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and ectopic pregnancy. Women and men with chlamydia should be retested about three months after treatment of an initial infection whether or not their sexual partners have been treated.
