Yes without pain: Inflamed muscle or tendon moving could make a popping sound or feel like a popping sound. (no pain)a ligament (connects bone to bone and helps hold the bone in place) just moving out of place a bit.( no pain with pop.) above assumes no trauma.

NO: It is not a acute fresh (recent ) injury , er is not the place for this problem , you call your family doctor , will refer you to orthopedic surgeon , will examine and evaluate the problem with tests if needed MRI , you will have correct answer , and she will have right treatment
