See comment: As a previous transplant surgeon, matching donor ; recipient is more than blood grouping..There is tissue testing , etc it is somewhat a complicated process . If you are contemplating to be a donor, consult a transplant center in n.Y.City where you live and get a detailed information.

Blood types: Blood type o negative could be given to all people. People with ab positive type can receive any blood. Blood banks still crossmatch carefully before any blood is transfused, however.
