Was there mesh?: To answer this i need to know if there was mesh involved in the repair, but it is not uncommon to have incisional pain in some scars.

Scar tissue: It is common to have some discomfort in the hernia incision even when the repair was executed perfectly from a technical point of view. There can be unavoidable scarring after a surgery regardless of whether mesh was used. ( in 2010 it is highly likely) there is a lot going on physically during ejaculation and it is possible that you were experiencing some local nerve irritation. .
