Potassium intake: The amount of potassium (K) intake is dependent on several factors. One is the presence of any kidney disease, another is the amount losses of potassium, such as in sweat and through the urine and the intake of K rich food. In fact, the only sure way to diagnose and treat a K deficiency is by blood work. If you do not have a K deficiency on a lab test, what ever you are doing seems to be working.
