Blood tryptase: A blood test from a corpse can be tested for serum tryptase. The blood needs to be obtained a few hours after the allergic reaction and if elevated can indicate mast cell degranulation which is a sign of an allergic reaction. An autopsy that shows eosinophils in the affected tissue (larynx, lungs, etc) may also be helpful.
