Fundamental!: All living things need a blood supply to deliver food, water, and get rid of waste. A circulating cancer cell needs to evade detection, get out of the blood vessel, and establish that blood supply: angiogenesis!. All these actors under molecular control, and likely normal during in utero development. Cut off the blood supply, choke the tumor.
