Yes: If you really have culture positive or a positive "quick strep" test then you should be on an antibiotic that kills strep. If you just have a "sore throat" then you cannot tell if you have strep or not.

See your MD: Only after you consult your doctor and quip strep test is positive or clinically you have signs of strep test and result of culture are pending, your doctor may prescribe a full course of antibiotics and if the culture is negative you may stop the antibiotics only way you can be diagnosed with srep throat is by 1clinical exam by md 2quick strep test if + 3confirm by throat culture so see your md.
