Get checked.: You should see a non- surgical sports medicine specialist, who can determine if it's just a strain , or something more serious. Icing the calf for 20 minutes at a time, 3-4 times per day, can be helpful. Also, if you can take aleve (naproxen) or advil, as directed, it may help as well.
