A member asked:

Is it necessary to treat alexithymia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: If there is no impairment and no concern for interpersonal functioning, then probably not. A hermit who does not come in contact with others may have no concerns in this area. The other 99.99% of us probably would benefit if improved with this condition.
