A member asked:

I have an addiction issue. is there a distinction between specific types of gambling addictions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: If you "throw good money after bad, " spend more than you can afford, and compulsively continue after losing, it is a gambling problem. Doesn't matter if its poker, scratch tickets, horse races, internet games or roulette at monte carlo. Gambling problems are treated similarly, but you should see a mental health worker with experience treating addiction. South oaks hospital on li is one.
