Swelling: Swelling from the fracture with bleeding from the fractured bones can produce the heat. If the swelling gets extreme, and you're in a cast or splint, then it can reduce the circulation to the fingers. The best bet is to keep it elevated as much as possible. If you have a cast or splint, check with your doctor to see if it is too tight.
