Herpes simplex: Herpes simplex in the genital area may cause no symptoms in some people. In others, a few weeks after being exposed to herpes a person may develop fever, muscle aches ; pains, headache ; swelling of groin lymph nodes. The lesions may be preceded several days by itching ;/or pain. They start as red bumps which then develop into blisters. When the blisters break open they ooze fluid or bleed.

Genital Herpes: I may have bad news for you. 90% of those infected with genital herpes do not have outbreaks or any other physical symptom, but can still be contagious through viral shedding. If you do not have outbreaks there is no test to tell you where you got infected or at what rate you are contagious. Herpes outbreaks are usually a cluster of painful or itchy blisters that then ulcerate and are raw skin.
