Coup -contrecoup: Please see MD, Neurology or go to ER if you had loss of consciousness or severe head injury. Coup -contrecoup injury occurs when you hit one side of the head and the brain slams into the inside of the other side of the skull. You may or may not need a CT scan to rule out a bleed and study up on concussion and post concussion care to understand your head injury more clearly.
