Hot tub fun: Some people get an almost allergic-like reaction from the heat and other chemicals in the hot tob. The reaction can look like a flat, splotchy red rash and can itch. Another rash that happens is really an infection called folliculitis. You develop little bumps that may be full of pus at the base of each hair follicle. It's red and can itch. Usually antibiotics are needed. Happy hot tubbing!

Hot tub folliculitis: Hot tub folliculitis is caused by the bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa. This form of bacteria survives in hot tubs, unless the water's acid and chlorine levels are strictly controlled.
