Probably not: Spotting while taking bcp can occur especially during the first few months of starting bcp but if the spotting persists then other causes should be ruled out such a uterine pathology ( polyps, fibroids ), cervical pathology, pregnancy etc.. At time if no other causes could be found then changing to a different type of a bcp can help.
