Not in the usual way: Tetanus does not come to you from the bite of a rodent or mosquito, like traditional vector borne illnesses. It is caused by germs that exist in a stable spore form in nature, everywhere, but often concentrated in soil or dust. Any break in the skin that allows the spores in, can hatch the germs that start an infection. That growing tetanus germ releases a toxin that causes tetanus.
