Amoxicillin: Amoxicillin not uncommonly causes a skin rash . You should stop it and ask your doctor to find out if she still needs it or needs to get an alternate antibiotic. Try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) if itching is an issue.

Rash and tonsillitis: Strep tonsillitis can have a rash associated with it but it is sandpapery in texture and in the warm areas of the body (groin axilla etc.). Sometimes Amoxicillin can cause a fine rash but usually about seven days into treatment. Finally if it was not proven strep it could have been a viral tonsillitis and some viruses can cause a rah. Lastly antibiotic allergy can cause a rah. Talk to your M.D.
