Women's specialist: Ob-gyn is the short for obstetrician-gynecologist, the medical subspecialty that deals with women's issues such as pregnancy, menses, dysfunction and disorders of the female reproductive tract. They are certified md's with post medical school training (internship and residency) focusing on these areas and some taking further training to enhance their skills.
