Need evaluation: You need to see a fertility specialist to determine the cause. If you have only one sexual partner then he needs to be evaluated and make sure he is produced normal sperm in sufficient amounts.

I do not know: Not sure why you are having a problem conceiving a baby. Assuming you have a normal period and you ovulate a viable egg monthly (2 weeks before your period starts), and you have unprotected sex at that time, you have a chance to get pregnant. If you have been doing this often, without success, you and your partner may need to see a fertility specialist. Best wishes to you both.

One year: Most physicians would not perform serious infertility testing until you have tried to conceive for a year. A previous c-section however may have caused some scarring so you should check with your ob/gyn sooner.
