Herpes: 75% of americans have herpes. It is more likely that you are already have herpes than not. If you have not had the blood test for herpes then that has to happen before you worry about other infections. But, in this scenario it is possible if there is immediate exposure to your friend's straw to getting virus if they have herpes. There is no standard time to consider. Please get tested.
