A member asked:

What are the biochemical reactions due to trauma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation: The body's response to injury can lead to an increase in pro-inflammatory chemical mediators (e.g. Cytokines) and alterations in the activity of coagulation cascade. Our bodies are generally very good at dealing with mild to moderate injury/inflammation. Significant up-regulation of inflammation is associated with multiple organ dysfunction and can be a serious problem.
