Unusual: Most people get constipated from hydrocodone itself, and often get diarrhea when stopping. I recommend my patients start with something mild like a stool softener (dulcolax tabs - colace or surfak) one tab twice a day, then use a mild laxative like milk of magnesia 2 tblsp at night. If that doesn't work, senna-based laxatives, magnesium citrate or MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) would be next best step.
