Seborrheic dermatiti: Medicated shampoos, creams and lotions are the main treatments for seborrheic dermatitis. Try over-the-counter dandruff shampoos, before considering prescription remedies. Your doctor may prescribe ketoconazole shampoo alternated with a clobetasol scalp product (Temovate) twice weekly. Psoralen with light therapy (photochemotherapy). Prescription-strength hydrocortisone, fluocinolone or desonide
