Not a poison: Asbestos is a mineral fiber and cannot "poison" you as it is inert. It can cause pleural and lung disease, especially in smokers, 30 years after exposure. If you work at a job that involves cutting, grinding, scraping building materials or in old factories you might have been exposed. Your employer is responsible for identifying any worksite asbestos and doing proper abatement and educating you.
