See details: What tests are you talking about? The sed rate and CRP are not all that accurate in detecting flares.

We treat people: Lab tests may be normal but a good doctor will treat the patient and not the lab test. Same for x-rays. If the x-ray is negative but the patient acts broken, i treat them as broken until the x-ray catches up.
