Spotting: Irregular spotting one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ; hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Irregular periods: A lot of things can affect your periods besides pregnancy. If you happen to be on the pill this sort of pattern can actually be normal. The home tests are pretty reliable so you should be safe for now. Wait and see what happens going forward over the next month or so, assuming that you feel ok otherwise.
