A member asked:

In head-on collision with crushing chest pain after, i had an abnormal ekg 10 days later. is it okay to do a stress ekg? worried about further injury.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cardiac contusion: You likely had a cardiac contusion. It's safe to do the stress test but i'm not sure the information will be useful since a positive result may turn out to be a false positive. Stress tests are extremely safe because they're supervised with close ekg, bp, and rhythm monitoring and they're graduated and can be immediately stopped if a problem arises.
