A member asked:

I have fibroids and have non stop periods even when starting and stopping the pill. do the fibroids have to be removed? is there hope w/out insurance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several options: You may consider taking the (combination) pill in 3 month cycle eliminating the placebo pills (the last 7 pills in a 28 pill pack) that way you'll have less periods (withdrawal bleeding). There is the progesterone iud or implant (nexplanon) which may cause your periods to stop or decrease flow. Uterine fibroid embolization is also an option. Discuss with your doctor to see what's best for you
