Ovulation: Ovulation is necessary to get pregnant. If periods are irregular then consistent monthly ovulation is not likely or at least hard to predict. Home ovulation tests or a blood test can be done to confirm. Clomid (clomiphene) is a commonly used medication to promote ovulation. Overweight patients with pcos may begin to ovulate after weight loss.
