Don't blame the pill: Please, understand the birth control pill did not cause your weight gain but it can make your periods stop. It is actually more common for Mirena (levonorgestrel) users (20-30%) after 1 year to not have periods. It is not necessary to have a period when using either of these types of birth control. Although, i understand that some women, despite reassurance, do not feel comfortable not seeing their period.
