A member asked:

My brother has been tested positive for salmonella typhi and his crp is 34.5 ! is it serious? and what to give him for food?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What test?: If salmonella typhi bacteria grew from his blood, stool or other culture, then he has typhoid and needs to be treated with an antibiotic. If he has tested positive for antibodies but bacteria do not grow, then chances are he once had it but is cured. If there are any dietary restrictions, his physician will let him know.
