A member asked:

Can groin/testicle pain/injury be caused by a hacking dry cough due to a cold while having an erection in a sitting position?

Tough to say: But the process of coughing n and of itself causes a pressure downward in the groin area. That is why to test for a hernia a dr. Has you turn your head and "cough." you may have strained your groin if the cough is severe and prolonged enough to cause an issue in the groin area. Best wishes.

Unusual scenario: Unlikely! but enough pressure can identify a hernia.
