Yes: They have even made a reality tv show about these cases! some women truly don't know they are pregnant for various reasons (maybe they have very irregular periods; or are overweight - as you stated, and don't notice).

Pregnant: Yes , a larger woman may not show her pregnancy. If pregnancy is suspected, pick up a pregnancy test at the pharmacy.
