Laparoscopy: A d;c will not remove an ovarian cyst. You may need a laparoscopy. We have so many options now for patients like you! see your ob/gyn provider and check it out!

They never left: Fibroids of the uterus and cysts of the ovaries are 2 different things. Ovarian cysts are very common in young women and usually don't require any treatment at all (they can be a source of pain however). Fibroids are the the most common reason why women have heavy periods and one way to try to lighten the flow and "reset" the lining is to do a dnc. It does nothing to the fibroid itself.
