Depends: If depression is not responding to ssris, then Effexor (venlafaxine) might be a good choice. I usually try 3 different antidepressants at least before effexor (venlafaxine). Effexor (venlafaxine) works well, but has side effects if you miss a dose.

Effexor effects: Thank you for informing about Poor concentration and Agitation. Effexor (venlafaxine) is a good medication for treatment of moderate depression. Its side effects can be Anxiety and Agitation. Therefore, this is not the medication for you. Mild depression can be treated by Therapy with good results. For Moderate depression, see a psychiatrist for: -Lexapro or Wellbutrin and Therapy for stress.
