Depends: After giving birth, the first period will typically come in 6-8 weeks if a woman is not breast feeding. If she is breastfeeding it varies. Some women get their period back when baby starts skipping feedings at night, and some women don't get their cycles until after no longer breast feeding. Either way first period typically is heavier than usual.
