On occasion: I have used it in patient with fairly good success especially if Gabapentin and Lyrica (pregabalin) are not tolerated or cause weight gain.

Because it is not extensively metabolized in the liver, topiramate is being promoted as the successor to Gabapentin and is prescribed for a variety of cnronic pain disorders including the prophylaxis of migraine headache.
