On occasion: I have used it in patient with fairly good success especially if Gabapentin and Lyrica (pregabalin) are not tolerated or cause weight gain.

Yes,: Topamax is a newer anticonvulsant that blocks voltage-gated sodium ion channels. Because it is not extensively metabolized in the liver, topiramate is being promoted as the successor to Gabapentin and is prescribed for a variety of cnronic pain disorders including the prophylaxis of migraine headache. Rec.: talk to your health care provider about the risk/benefit ratio.
