Always this way?: A primary care doctor can check on this. Some people are "born that way", and have an indention on one side of the front rib cage, compared to the other side. It may become more noticeable as a child goes through puberty and gets big and tall. The primary care doctor may refer to a specialist or a thoracic surgeon, if there is worry of a medical problem, or if some cosmetic treatment is desired.

7 years ago I suddenly got the most intense pain I've ever experienced in my left rib cage that lasted for 6-8 weeks. Pain improved a bit but the soreness never went away over that one rib. Can a rib fracture really cause this long lasting problems?
What can cause constant stitch feeling in left side and bubbling sounds/feelings down the left side (rib to hip, on side)? So annoying!
