A member asked:

What happens if a person has no peristalsis movement in the gastrointestinal tract?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

U will be full of it: Peristalsis is the automatic contraction of smooth muscles to propel contents through the digestive tract..Without it functioning normally, you will not be able to swallow food, and if you manage to get food to the stomach, it will just sit there. Once in the intestine/colon, stools will just sit there as well..Thus making you full-of-it. :-) i hope you have some peristalsis.. Good day, iwash5..
