Most of the time.: Depending on the type of software that your dental provider is using most of the time it is possible to determine the bone density in the site of the implant as well. These are called hounsfield units.

The short Answer, NO: You have been doing your home work, and while the height and width of the bone can be clearly seen, its density can only be guessed at by a comparative assessment. The experienced surgeon is able to make a pretty good guess, but every now and then they do have surprises.

Yes..Kind Of: 3D scans of the bones do measure density. However, the technology is not yet advanced enough to be 100% accurate. It will give your dentist/surgeon a good idea of what to expect when he/she places your implant, but he/she will not rely on the density values from your 3D scan. How the actual bone "feels" during implant placement will be the final deciding factor...with "guidance" from the 3D scan.
