See answer : Skin tags are very common and generally occur after midlife. They are believed to be the result of skin rubbing against skin which is why they are generally found in skin creases and folds (neck, armpit, groin). More common if overweight, diabetic, or have other family members with them (genetic). No treatment needed unless cosmetically bothersome or causing irritation.
