My doctor seems to think that a blood test will show if you're pregnant 5 days past ovulation. is this true? is there enough hcg to detect at this pt?

Your doctor is corre: Almost immediately after conception the HCG is produced. There is not enough to get a + pregnancy test from the urine for almost 2 weeks but with a good lab it can be seen in as erly as 2-3 days.
