A member asked:

Age 32. tsh tested in nov was 0.13 last week it was 43. i have no ins but my primary works on a sliding fee. should i see endo before starting med?

What is the cause?: The low TSH in november suggests that your thyroid level was high, the current high TSH suggests that your thyroid level is low. You should have a free T4 level done to see how low. An endo can help decide whether your problem is temporary (as in subacute thyroiditis) or permanent (as in hashimoto's thyroiditis).
