Lovan(fluoxetine)...: ...Like all ssri's, takes a while to work(on the order of weeks usually). I doubt starting14 days before your period will work for that first period. If you get depressed during your entire period, try fluoxetine on a daily basis. If it makes you feel odd, starting with a small dose like 5mg and increasing very gradually may work for you. Alcohol can negate the effect, so watch your alcohol intake.
