My dad(55), is constantly sleeping. he is up for a couple of hours & then falls asleep. he is diabetic so is this normal or is this something alarming?

Possible OSA: While a full history and physical would be needed , a sleep study to rule out obstructive sleep apnea or other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy would seem reasonable.

Diabetic: He may be having spells of hypoglycemia. He should be evaluated as to his insulin.
