A member asked:

Please explain if it is possible for eyes to lighten with time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With aging: Darker colored iris tissue (i.e. Brown) can lose pigment revealing the lighter stromal tissue underneath giving the appearance of a lighter colored iris later in life. There are also disease processes in the eye that can remove pigment and also have the same effect.
