Yes: Popping of the jaw can be due to a displaced disc which sits in the joint above the condyle (ball portion) of your temporomandibular joint or from subluxation (partial dislocation) of your joint. You need to be diagnosed properly as to your specific problem by seeing and oral ; maxillofacial surgeon.

Yes: Yes. TMJ problem. If it concerns you, see a TMJ specialist. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
